The IBM SFP 1000Base-T Transceiver module is a 1000Base-T small-form-factor, hot-pluggable (SFP) transceiver that plugs into an SFP SERDES data port, and is compatible with 1000Base-X auto-negotiation. It provides 1000-Megabit connectivity for up to 100-meter distances using category 5 twisted pair copper cabling. This Gigabit Ethernet 1000Base-T transceiver module provides excellent performance in port-dense networks with challenging thermal environments. It is also compliant with IEEE 802.3ab, transferring a 1000-Megabit data stream over shielded or unshielded twisted pair (UTP) category 5, 5e, or 6 cabling.
